George Lee Walcott Sr. was born on March 9, 1871 in Lincoln Co, Missouri. His parents were Samuel James Walcott (1844-1901) and Ruth Ann Skinner (1846-1906).

He married Ruth Edith Leatherman (Walcott) (1888-1977) on May 23, 1905 in St Charles, Missouri. They had 6 children, George Lee “Toby” Jr. (1908-1989), Susie Malinda (1911-1992), Ruth Alta (1914-1915, infant death), Martha Edith Walcott (1917-1919, child death), Mary Edna Evelyn (1924-2011), and Wilma Wynetta (1925-2011). He spent most of his life as a farmer in Lincoln County, Missouri.
The 1920 census indicates he was a salesman in the land industry (sounds like a real estate agent). George was well known and respected in Winfield. He always had food stored in the ground during the cool winters for his family and would share with others. He would cut ice when the Mississippi River froze, bring it home and bury it in the ground with straw and they would have ice for many months to use and share.
George died on June 6, 1939 in Winfield, Missouri as result of a skull fracture caused by falling from a scaffolding to the basement on a WPA Project with the government.
